Reading a public passport page
What anyone scanning a QR code sees, and what stays private.
Scanning a product's QR code, or opening its passport link directly, shows: brand, model, and reference; verification/serial status; warranty coverage window; manufacturing year; a repairability score and spare-parts availability; recycled content percentage; materials; supply chain origin; and a public history of major life events (shipped, sold, serviced, and so on).
What's deliberately never shown: any buyer's name or contact details, prices paid, shipping addresses or tracking numbers, or any internal notes. The passport shows "2 previous owners," never who they are.
A passport keeps working — forever — regardless of the manufacturer's own subscription or billing status. It's a promise to the product's owner, not something that can quietly go offline.
