Creating product units — single, bulk CSV, and catalog imports
Turning a catalog entry into real, serialized, passport-bearing items.
A "product unit" is one physical, serial-numbered item. Creating one always creates its Digital Product Passport automatically.
One at a time
From a product model's page, or the Product Units list, create a single unit with a serial number, batch number, production date, and manufacturing site.
In bulk, from a CSV
Product Units → Upload CSV. Each row becomes one unit; the results table shows exactly which rows succeeded and which failed, so a few bad rows never block the rest of the file.
Importing your whole catalog
- From Shopify — connect your store once (Integrations page), then sync your catalog straight into Product Models. A "Check Shopify stock" panel on Product Units lets you create exactly the missing serialized units to match Shopify's stock count.
- From any CSV export — Product Models → Import CSV accepts an export from Shopify, another e-commerce platform, or any spreadsheet; column names are matched automatically against common aliases (e.g. "SKU", "Handle", or "Reference" all map to your reference number).
- From an IDM/DCC catalog file (furniture trade format) — Product Models → Import IDM.
Shopify tracks a stock count per product, never individual serial numbers — there's no such thing as "importing serial numbers from Shopify." The stock sync creates the right number of new, draft, individually-serialized units for you instead.
